- every night I have this dream I guess it is that I am nursing a baby and I am waiting for the baby in the bassinet to wake up so that I can lay down this other baby. I will have my hands in the perfect places to hold this baby as I carefully get out of bed to see if the other baby is ready to get up. I then wake up to my hand pretty much holding my boob realizing that I already fed Mallorie and she is asleep again in her bassinet.lol (this is very crazy because I don't even feed her in the bed)
- I have also dug in the sheets trying to find her panicked that I feel asleep with her and she is covered up.
- I have held Roxi trying to figure out why my baby is so furry.
- Nathan and I were watching TV the other night and a commerical came on that made me think of red bull so I ask him, "What is the animal that goes with Red Bull again?"---his response..."Uhh...a BULL!" - OMG---maybe I'm not getting enough sleep.hehe

2 week check-up
Today we took Mallorie for her 2 week check-up. At birth she weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 21 in. long, with a head circumference of 13 in. She is definately a growing girl. She now weighs 8 lbs 5 oz., is 20 in. long (guess she shrunk in this area.lol) and her head circumference is now 14 1/2 in. I am so incredibly thankful that I have a happy, healthy baby. God is good! She is in the 50 % in weight, 49% in heighth and 71% in head circumference.
Here is a little bit about my baby:
-A good eater---Very thankful for this--I prayed about it all during pregnancy.
-Not very fussy -----except when she gets too tired. That is when we have heard the most crying.
-Does fairly well in the car. There has been one time that she screamed bloody murder the whole way home...she was in tears in the car and then when I got her settled down when we got home I then cried. I do not like for Mallorie to be upset.
-Loves her mommy---I've heard numerous comments about her being a momma's girl--I secretly love it! I also prayed that she would love me through pregnancy as well.lol
-Eats about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours
-We swaddle her at night but keep her arms out--she sleeps with them up by her ears---PRECIOUS!
-gives the most heart melting smiles
-makes funny noises ---sometimes it's like she is growling.hehe
-holds your hand stronger with her left hand (Daddy loves this b/c he is a lefty)
-Likes bath time
-Not a big fan of her swing
-Has us wrapped around her finger!

Birth Story
Okay, so my due date was Aug. 1st. It came and went and I was showing no signs of going into labor. So, the plan was to wait and see if my body would go into labor on its own in the next week. We were scheduled to go back to the doctor on Monday Aug. 6th if I had not had her already and would most likely induce on the 7th.
Around 3 am Monday morning I started having the pains in my lower abdomen that would spread around to my back. I thought that maybe they were contractions. So, I started to watch the clock and see if they kept happening. They did! About every 8 minutes this same feeling occured. I waited an hour to make sure that I wasn't going crazy until I woke up Nathan. We kept timing the contractions and they kept getting closer together and intensified. During the contractions I kept getting sick and throwing up which made things quite interesting. By 7:00 am we decided it was time to get to the hospital---I swear they were every 2 min. and that by the time one ended another one started. Nathan said they were probably about 5 min. apart. Through the whole labor and delivery my concept of time was definatly off. So, we get to the hospital they put me in a wheelchair to roll me up to labor and delivery and as soon as I sat down a contraction came and I puked in the lobby floor. Poor receptionist (who was not a nurse) I think was about to come unglued.lol.
So, I get check and I am definatly in labor and at a 3! Yay! Here is where the time definatly gets distorted... Everything was probably in incriments of about an hour, but it felt like every 10 min.
Which is probably good for the person in labor to feel that things are moving very quickly! So, what felt like 10 min. later the doctor came in to check me and I was at a 4. He went ahead and broke my water and we talked about the epidural. I was keeping an open mind the whole pregnancy and was going to try to do it completely natural, but the pain was so intense I decided I would go ahead and get one. It was wonderful! They came and checked me again and I was at a 6-7, 8-9 (again in all what felt like 10 min. apart). By 11 am I was at a 10! Mallorie was a little face up and so we moved to my side to try and get her to adjust a little---it worked at 11:30 or 11:45 it was time to push. I pushed for about 30 min. and at 12:12 pm my baby was here!
It was the most wonderful feeling in the world! Here are some pictures of the events.

In love
On Monday, August 6, 2012 I was blessed with a new love….
Mallorie Kate Conner
8-6-12 12:12 pm 7 lbs 11 oz. 21 in.
Dear Mallorie,
The day I found out we were pregnant with you was such a wonderful day. My love for you started to grow more and more each day for you over the next 9 months. Now that you are here in my arms I am totally head over heels for you. You brighten each second of the day for me. I love the way you snuggle. I love the way you make me feel special. And, I love the way you make my love for your daddy even stronger than before. My favorite parts of the day are seeing him snuggle up with you. You are loved by us so much!
Love,
Mommy
