All I Want For Christimas is......

A new hot water heater?

This is what Nathan and his Dad did the Saturday before Christmas.  Although is was not the best timing nor waht you want to spend your money on, but the hot water was wonderful! It started the Wednesday before when I decided I would shower as soon as Mallorie woke up. It was like 6:45 and Nathan was not up yet. So, I get in the shower even though the water was not completely warmed up yet thinking it would warm up fast......WRONG! I don't think I have ever showered so fast in my life. It was freezing and it didn't help that is was a cold day as well. So, I tell Nathan that something was wrong because my shower was so cold. So at lunch he checks and sure enough the pilot went out. He relights it and we think all is well. Well, this goes on for three days of him lighting the pilot light like 3 times a day so we can have warm water. Then Friday night his Dad came over and they tried to work on it, but it could not be fixed. Nathan looked at the dates and figured out that it was 12 years old!!!!! We decided we needed to replace it. So, the Saturday before Christmas our house got quite messy.

Nathan had to get into the attic so we had to clean out Mal's closet.

Here Comes Santa Clause!

So here it is two weeks before Chistmas and we FINALLY have our tree up.....thanks to my Mom and Aunt!  Normally our house is all decked out the weekend after Thanksgiving, but life happened and we just now got it put up Wednesday.  I was deteremined that I would get a picture of Mal in our home in front of our tree for her first Christmas.  It was so much fun decorating together though.  They came over and we cleaned and then Nathan, Cindy, and I got decorations down from the Attic while Mom watched Mallorie. Then we all decorated and had Steak Express (which by the way I am so obsessed with now----BEST BURGERS EVER!!!!), and then ended the night with Survivor and Mal talking up a storm.  It was precious!

Delicious!

At Mallorie's 4 Month check up the Dr. gave us the go ahead for starting rice cereal. I hadn't quite decided if I wanted to go ahead and start or wait until she was 6 months. The Dr. acted like it would just be for fun and good practice for her, but that I could wait as well. Well, I just got so excited the other day, and also am really hoping the old wives tale rings true and helps her sleep longer. Her first experience with solids was wonderful. I was a little nervous because she gagged really bad on her vitamins for a while and so I stopped giving them to her because I thought she was going to choke. We started consistently giving them to her after Thanksgiving and she is doing great now, but was having TERRIBLE gas and tons of it and Nathan realized that was the only thing that had changed, so we stopped them this week and Ta-Da, her gas is not as bad! We will start them back up next week, but I wanted to give her tummy a break- poor thing! Back to the cereal------Okay, so also when Lauri first gave Remi some solids (Squash)---he gagged on it because he didn't like it--- but, we thought he was choking and it was a crazy experience, so the consistency of her cereal was pretty liquidy with mostly breastmilk, but still had some thickness to it. Well she just loved it and would open her mouth up for more and not spit it out! It was too cute. I'm a proud Mama----a little sad because this means my baby is growing up! So here are pictures and hopes of a very restful night!hehe

To all you first time Mom's out there----don't forget to be VERY specific to your hubby when asking him to take a picture of you feeding your child.  I got on here to upload the pictures from tonight and was so excited to see a picture of me feeding Mallorie and hmmm....all we have is my arm.lol

(I am one proud Mama---but poor Mallorie was probably so embarrassed today....we went shopping and my hair looked like this! Isn't that nice!)

Our Hero!

Mallorie didn't know it, but the sweetest, strongest, most loving, and generous person I've ever known was loving on her. Oh Grannie...how we all miss you so much already. I was pulling pictures from my camera for Mal's 4 month post and found this picture.  This is the last picture I have of Grannie.  It was taken a couple weeks before she passed.  Thank you Lord for giving us Grannie.

4 Months!

Whoa baby! Mallorie is 4 months old!

At four months old Mallorie's personality is sure shining through! She is so sweet, goes with the flow pretty well, and still makes sure everyone knows she is a momma's girl. I am so glad she is happiest in my arms because I am also the happiest when she is in mine.

Her official check-up is Monday, but on my scale this morning she is weighing 15 lbs. I can't wait to see how long she is.  She definately has a long torso.

She wears 6-9 mo clothes mostly and a size 2 diaper.

I am still feeding her on demand which is about every 2 hrs.

She takes about 4 naps a day that are an hour long.

She goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up about 6:45------but, wakes up like 4 or 5 times right now at night.  I'm just not ready for her to cry it out...so we will keep doing this until she gets the hang of it, or I get just so exhausted I can't do it anymore.lol

She loves, loves, loves music (the number one thing we don't leave home without is music that will calm her down if she gets upset).  She also loves glo-worm, and still loves to be bounced and for me to stand in front of the fan while putting her to sleep. This girl basically just loves for whoever is holding her to stand up.

Mallorie has also found her voice.  She coos and laughs and squeals and it is the most precious thing you've ever heard.

I love this girl so much!

New friend

Again, this picture did not turn the right way, but you can still see these cute babies!  I thought this picture was hilarious.  Here is Jaxon (My sweet friend Erynn's baby--he was like 4 days old here) just mellow as can be, and then you've got Mallorie (at 2 months old) upset as can be---poor thing had gotten her shots that morning and was having a rough day. Oh, I hated to see her feel bad.  I wish I could have taken a million of those shots for her so that she did not hurt at all.  That is not a fun feeling for your baby to be so upset and feel bad.

3 months!

I can't believe Mallorie is already three months old! She is the sweetest thing and I just can't get enough of her. It is amazing to watch her grow not only physically but mentally as well. She bats and grabs at toys, is getting so strong with her neck, has great head control unless she's tired, smiles and talks to us and even laughed some more the other day. She still loves to sleep in my arms and though I don't get a lot done around the house I love for her to sleep in my arms. This past week she has started going to bed around 9 and still wakes up two times to eat before 6 and then will eat and sleep about another hour. During her third month there were a couple of weeks where she was waking up like every hour but thankfully she is back to sleeping three hours at a time and I will be glad when she gets back to her five hour stretches. She isn't on a set feeding or napping schedule but some patterns are emerging of when she wants to sleep and she can only stay awake about an hour before she's ready to sleep again. She still likes to stand up and be bounced to sleep and loves loves loves music! She weighs about 13 1/2 lbs and wears size 1 diapers and 3-6 mo. clothes. She loves to suck on her hands too. Mallorie is such a blessing to us and we love her more and more each day! I love being her mommy. She is such a great baby!
