Baby Shower #1

Today I had my first baby shower for Miss Mallorie at work. My Goliad family is so wonderful and I am so thankful for all of you!
Look at all the cute things she got!

Mom was sweet enough to leave her school a little early to come to the shower.

The hostesses with Mom and I

Terri and I

Two of the craziest people I know! I love ya'll!

Erynn is expecting a baby too, so we had to get a belly shot.  This is very fun going through pregnancy with a friend!

Week 26

I just got out of the shower and my hair and face are looking pretty rough...so, just focus on the belly.

How far along? 26 weeks

How big is baby? 13.6- to 14.8-inch and 1.5- to 2.5-pound range- about the size of a head of lettuce

Total weight gain? 11 lbs...I go to the doctor next week, so I am guessing maybe up to 14 or so.

Sleep? Pretty good.  I toss and turn quite a bit and I have been getting very hot at night.

Best moment of the week? Sunday night Nathan felt Mallorie move for the first time.  It was probably the hardest kick I have felt as well.  It was so neat!

Food cravings? nothing particular.  I did however cook spaghetti for the first time since I have been pregnant and it was delicious.  For those of you who know how much I love spaghetti it is crazy that I have not wanted it very much since I have been pregnant.

Food aversions? None.

Mood this week: Very happy and excited.  Tomorrow I have a shower at work and then Saturday I have another shower!  Mallorie is very blessed!

Movement: She is moving a lot now and has started getting into a routine of when I can expect to feel her.  She is a slow starter in the mornings (like her momma) and I am hoping maybe that means she will like to sleep late. Wishful thinking I am sure.lol

Next appointment: May 4th- I will have my glucose test done at this appointment.  I am hoping all goes well.

Week 25

We went to the doctor on Friday and everything was looking good.  I love hearing her little heartbeat!  I have gained a total of 11 lbs so far.  It seems like some cravings have set in.  It's not anything specific I want, but I will think of something and then I've just got to have it.    The only problem is that the other night all the things I wanted we did not have at the house, so I had to do a lot of self talk to make the craving go away.  Next week is going to be very exciting.  I have my first baby showers!!!!! So, stay tuned for pictures.

24 Weeks/Easter

As I am writing this Mallorie started to move.  How neat!  I think this is her favorite time of the day.  Last night she was moving so much and it was pretty hard, so I had Nathan see if he could come feel it.  Of course, as soon as he came over.....she stopped!lol  Today at work my stomach got so tight that I felt like I couldn't straighten up all the way.  Are those Braxton Hicks?  We go to the doctor again on Friday and I can't wait to hear her little heartbeat again.  Here is  picture of Nathan and I on Easter. It was quite funny getting ready for church Sunday morning.  My mom had bought me this dress for Easter at my birthday (which was in Jan.)--well about 2 weeks ago, I thought that I should try on some new clothes that I had gotten but hadn't had a chance to wear.  Well, I put on my dress and at first I thought Oh know, I have waited to late to wear this.  Well, I tried it on again and decided it was good.  Well, I put it on Sun. morning and realize it is see through.  How I did not notice this the other times I have tried on the dress...I don't know.  So, I have one slip that was from my going away dress at our wedding (3 1/2 years ago).  Well, I had packed it up when I packed up all my other clothes and thankfully I knew right where I had put it.  The only problem...I wasn't sure it would fit at all.  Well there is a slit on the side that would normally hit around my thigh that went clear up to my hip and the thing was skin tight.  It worked though and that the only thing that mattered.  Lesson Learned....always be prepared!

Work in Progress

Today when Nathan got home from work he put together Mallorie's crib.  Things are starting to come together and make everything seem so real.  Also, the coolest thing happened last night.  I was laying on the couch and Mallorie was moving around and all of sudden it was like she kicked me pretty hard and it felt like my stomach had jumped out.  So, I lift up my shirt to see if I was just imagining things and it happened again and it was very obvious that my skin had definately moved. So, I told Nathan to watch for a second and sure enough she did it again and he got to see it!  This is just amazing!!

The finished product!  I'm looking pretty hott I know.lol My shorts were just a tad tight today, so I decided to put on some of Nathan's that would be more comfortable. I look like a gansta! What a wonderful day.

23 weeks!

The best part of the last week is that I am feeling Mallorie a lot now.  Most of the time at night when we are relaxing watching tv, but the other day she moved around a lot while I was at work.  It brings a smile to my face everytime I feel something.  Roxi wanted to be on the blog this week again...here is my precious girl whom I love to pieces. Happy Wednesday!

Oh So Exctied!!!

Very exciting things have been happening this week at our house. Yesterday Mallorie's crib came! We had it shipped to my aunt's house so it would not come while Nathan and I were at work and just sit outside all day. For some reason the company said they do not unload the merchandise off the truck for you and we were thinking that it was only going to weight about 50 lbs ...so no biggie, right? Well, my mom got off early yesterday and was at my aunt's house when the crib arrived. So, they walk out there and the men are like, "Do you want us to help?".... Cindy's and Mom's response...,"Oh no, we got this!".....ughh mam....it weighs....wait for it..............175 lbs. Well, thankfully the men were feeling extra generous yesterday because they ended up carring it off the truck and into the house. So, today Nathan and I go over to Cindy's to pick up the crib and bring it back to our house. Cindy and Nathan got it loaded and then He-Man unloaded the whole thing by himself at our house (even though help was offered). He also today, picked up a recliner by himself and took it to the upholstery shop to get recovered for the nursery! I am feeling pretty special today. Here is a picture of Nathan with the crib. Please excuse the partially hung curtain. I took it down the other day and that was as high as I could reach to get it back up.lol
So, about an hour after getting home with the crib today the doorbell rings....and would you know it.....Mallorie's bedding is here too!!!!!  I am like a 5 year old at Christmas time. I just love it!
